On March 3, 2025, the District Court of Shawnee County, Kansas, entered an Order of Rehabilitation (the “Order”) placing Key Insurance Company into rehabilitation, appointing Vicki Schmidt, the Kansas Insurance Commissioner as the Rehabilitator of Key and directing her to take possession and title of Key and all of its books, records, accounts and other assets and property, wherever located and in whatever form. Pursuant to the Order and the Kansas Insurers Supervision, Rehabilitation and Liquidation Act, K.S.A. 40-3605 et seq., the powers of the respective officers, managers, and directors of Key are suspended, and all the powers of said officers, managers, and directors of Key are vested in the Rehabilitator, with full power to deal with the property and business of Key. The Court also approved the appointment of Jodi Adolf and Bruce Baty, as Special Deputy Receivers of Key, vested with full authority and the powers of the Rehabilitator.

Pursuant to the Order, Key is prohibited from issuing new policies or renewing insurance policies.  YOUR POLICY WILL NOT RENEW.  PLEASE FIND REPLACEMENT COVERAGE WITH ANOTHER CARRIER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Premium Refunds:  Pursuant to the Order of Rehabilitation, Key shall not issue any new insurance policies or renew any existing insurance policies.  If you attempted to renew a policy with an effective date on or after March 4, 2025, and paid premium to Key, you will receive a refund.  We are working as fast as possible to ensure you get your refund promptly.  You do not have to request a refund or take any other action.  Key is processing refunds via the method you paid.  If you paid via credit card, the refund will be credited to your credit card.
